Pole Vault Camp Staff
Jerry Sessions, Director
Jerry has been a student of the vault since he was 10 years old. He has coached numerous league, regional, and state champions in high school. He has coached an All American, and National Champ, at the collegiate level. Jerry is the Midwest Meet of Champions Pole Vault Coach for the state of Michigan. Out of the three years as the Midwest coach, they have won the women’s vault 3 times and the men’s vault once. He currently coaches athletes of all ages.
Miranda Farr, Assistant Coach
Miranda holds her high school pole vault record, and finished second at the 2002 State Meet. In her 2 years at the collegiate level she earned three All American awards, won the 2004 National Junior College Athletic Association Indoor National Championship, and was Outdoor Runner-up. She holds the Lansing Community College Pole Vault record and won the LCC Scholar Athlete Award. Miranda’s best vault is currently12’9”. At this time, she is jumping in elite and open competitions.
Tommy Stornant, Assistant Coach
Tommy is the 2003 Division III Pole Vault State Champion. He is also the 2004 Indoor State Champion. He was a 15’6” vaulter in high school. He was coached by Jerry Sessions for 3 years in high school. He is a freshman in college and is currently competing at Michigan State University. He placed 8th this year in the Big Ten Conference Meet earning him a varsity letter.
